Jane Austin

I know Im a bit behind the times, but I recently watched this movie and for anyone who hasnt seen it I cant recomend it enough. You dont have to be a big Austin fan to understand how the story works. As someone who has only read Emma, and thought at the time it was a bit dated, I now have a different outlook after seeing how Austins themes still to this modern day transend through time to remain very relevant! I cant wait to start reading. Any suggestions on what to start with??

Recent good reads

This book was originally written anonymously but it has since been revealed that the author is a woman named Nikki Gammel, (who is a good friend of one of my university lecturers) its no surprise she didn't originally want her name attached to it. She said one of the reasons was so she didn't have to hold back, and that she did not! This book oozes raw sexuality. It shows not just lust but desperation it makes you understand the characters craziness and then love her for it. Its one you cant predict or put down. Its desperate housewives with a lot more sex! I cant wait to read her new book "pleasure'.

This book should be renamed "chicken soup for the woman's soul" this book was made famous by Oprah and its great run on the bestseller list. Elizabeth Gilbert invites you not only on her journey but into her body mind and soul. After a crippling divorce she decides to literally go on a journey of self discovery, where she lives it up in Italy, meditates in India and loves in Bali. The geographical locations take a backseat to her whitty ways and spiritual awakening which separates this book from the typical travel journal. You laugh with her feel her pain and at the end you feel ready to take it all on for yourself!
Its not just a book but an invitation to see and feel things just as she did! A must read!
Anyone else read any good books lately?
